Le choix (2009-2010)

Après bien des hésitations j'ai plongé pour le "Sundowner" de John Welsford dont j'ai acheté les plans en 2009 après avoir suivi la construction du premier modèle sur son site :
After much thinkinks I choose the "Sundowner" from John Welsford and I bought plans in 2009 after following the building of the first model on his website.

De retour en métropole début 2010, un bref tour d'horizon nous a permis de constater la difficulté à trouver une place de port et après un débat animé avec "l'Amirale" pas très emballée par mon projet, un deal a été trouvé sur la construction d'un bateau sous réserve qu'il soit transportable.
Returning to France at the beginning of 2010, investigations about places in marina resulted in finding out that it was very difficult to find one, and after a debate with my Admiral (my spouse) who wasn't exactly carried away by my project, I found a deal about building sailboat with a reservation : she has to be trailerable.

Je me suis donc mis en quête d'un croiseur remorquable  de 7-8m, de préférence en kit pour gagner du temps avec la possibilité d'une motorisation diesel et d'un tirant d'eau modéré permettant de naviguer sur les canaux.
So I investigate for a 7-8 meters sailboat, preferably a kit with an inboard engine, medium draught as I plan to navigate not only in sea water but also on canals, particularly on "canal du midi" (I live in Toulouse).

Deux modèles ont attiré mon attention :

Deux constructions bois époxy très attrayantes mais le bateau Australien m'a paru plus adapté à mon programme de voyage et de navigation fluviale et côtière avec une facilité de mise à l'eau que n'a pas le Penhir qui nécessite une grue lors de chaque opération.
Two  very attractive constructions , however australian model appeared more suitable to my desire of fluvial and sea coastal navigation. Moreover "Penhir" need a crane every time you want to put it in or out of the water.

Le seul inconvénient c'est qu'il n'y a pas de dossier de plan, mais seulement un manuel de montage explicitant la procédure à suivre.
The only drawback is that there is no specific plan, only a manual explaining how to follow the procedure.

En septembre 2010, après avoir fait un saut sur Carlisle, aimablement invité par John qui termine son exemplaire, je passais commande d'un Scintilla 24 en version yawl.
In september 2010, after being kindly invited by John I visited his construction boat site near Carlisle, my decision was made ...  the next day I was ordering a scintilla 24.
