The moment of rolling over the hull has arrived. The manouver is a bit tricky due to the narrowness of the room (3.80m) and the low height of 2.10 m on one side with a shelf, and 2.95 m on the other side. The operation has to be well prepared...
Deux solutions :
- 1) Sortir le bateau de l'abri, le retourner à l'extérieur et le remettre en place
- 2) Essayer de le retourner sur place
La 1ère solution nécessite de nombreuses manipulations et donc plus de risques d'endommager la coque
La 2ème solution me tente beaucoup.
Après une étude très sérieuse du volume disponible et de l'encombrement de la coque avec l'aide d'un dessin à l'échelle j'en déduis que c'est faisable et je choisis donc la 2ème solution.
Two solutions:
- 1) Remove the boat from the shelter, return it outside, and bring it back inside
- 2) Try to turn it inside the shelter
The 1st solution requires many manipulations and therefore is more likely to damage the hull
The 2nd solution tempts me very much.
After some serious thoughts, considering the volume available and the size of the hull, with the help of a scale model, I conclude that it is feasible and so I decide to choose the 2nd solution.
Je choisis donc de me lancer dans le retournement sur place en prenant un maximum de précautions et en protégeant la coque par un double cerclage de bois au niveau de la cloison 9 et entre 5-6.
So I choose to turn it inside with taking many precautions and protecting the hull with a wooden frame around frame 9 and one more between 5-6.
L'utilisation d'une grue ne peut être envisagée dans cet espace restreint. La rotation sera effectuée à l'ancienne : à la force des bras! Pour cela j'ai sonné le rappel de mes amis du club de pêche à la mouche " La Phrygane", nous nous sommes donc retrouvés à 13.
A crane to help with the roll over is not possible in this tight place so we will be using the old-fashioned way : manpower! So I called my friends from the fly fishing club "La Phrygane", for a total of 13.
